Complaints against the police
The actions of police officers during protests and demonstrations can be subject to public scrutiny and criticism through complaint and investigation processes. The power to investigate complaints about police members and disciplinary action to be taken against them is derived from the Police Regulation Act 1958 (Vic) and the Police Integrity Act 2008. These Acts create two avenues to start an investigation about the behaviour of a police member. Also see:
